Bagged Roses

Planting your Bare Root Roses

The evening before you plant the rose, we suggest removing it from its packaging and soaking it in a bucket of water.

Dig a hole approximately 30cm x 30cm x 30cm and place a handful of Neutrog Seamungus pellets at the base of the hole. Seamungus is a root stimulant and will ensure the new rose plant settles into its new soil quickly.

Place a low mound of soil in the bottom of the hole so that when the rose is placed on it, the bud-union (where the rose is grafted), is approximately 2 to 3 cm above natural ground level.

Back fill the hole with soil and water the rose in with a full bucket of water. Jiggle the rose a little to remove air pockets and to settle the soil around the roots.

Once the water has drained away, add further soil to ensure top of hole is at natural ground level. We hope you enjoy many years of beautiful blooms.
