Smooth Touch Thornless Roses were discover by Harvey Davidson of Western Sun Roses California in 1961, while breeding for disease resistant roses. By Selective and cross breeding he hads developed over 30 thornless varieties in a range of colours and styles.
All Smooth touch varieties are considered 95-100% thorn free and are considered much safer in gardens for children, elderly gardeners and people who have an impaired lymphatic system resulting from cancer surgery or radiotherapy. Part proceeds support The Cancer Council of Victoria.
