A dark dark red, there are almost hints of black on the edges of some of the petals. If it wasn't for the brighter centre of the flower with yellow prominent stamens the colour would almost be too dark. This plant is spreading and will trail down over a low wall or the side of a pot, or if grown on a flat site will be a mounding ground cover, without getting too big. Perfect for use in ground cover beds or borders. Very good in pots and tumbling over walls too.
